1999, is based on Maria Montessori’s approach to education. Our environment operates on the principle of freedom within limits, respect for one’s self, for others and for the environment. Children learn how to be self-confident, contributing citizens of the world. We believe that children learn "best" by touching, feeling, tasting, and seeing, that by just listening. Therefore, our “whole child approach” to learning allows each child to reach their full potential at their own pace and level. Our environment is filled with beautiful, carefully chosen materials that invite the child to explore, encourage the child to be creative.

Montessori de la Citta (Montessori of the City) admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin. Montessori de la Citta is a non-profit organization. It is recognized as a full member school by the American Montessori Society. And it is registered as a school by the Illinois State Board of Education.
